My Top 5 Advertising Agencies in the United States

In this list I will be reviewing in my opinion the 5 best advertising firms in the US in 2021. Note: The list ranking is in no particular order.

Barkley

Barkley which is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri was founded in 1964. Barkley is the currently the seventh-largest independent advertising agency in the United States. With over 400+ employees and reputable work done on clients such as the Sonic Drive-In Restaurants, Dairy Queen, and Planet Fitness. You may recognize Barkley from their Dairy Queen campaign that launched fall-themed flavors and started a scented-candle line inspired by different Blizzard flavors. Also from the numeral Sonic commercials they have worked on.

The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc

Founded in 1930 and headquartered in New York City, The Interpublic Group of Companies or (IPG) is one of the biggest agencies in the world. IPG consists of five major networks: FCB, IPG Mediabrands, McCann Worldgroup, MullenLowe Group, and Marketing Specialists, as well as many other independent speciality agencies. IPG has had marketing problems in the early 2000 during the transitional period, but they are back now and still known as one of the “Big Five” advertising agencies.

Omnicom Group

Headquartered in New York, Omnicom Group is considered the second largest advertising agency in the world. Omnicom Group formed in 1986 in a merger between 3 agencies. They are now however made up of 5 major companies: The networks are BBDO Worldwide, Diversified Agency Services, DDB Worldwide, Omnicom Media Group, and TBWA Worldwide. The five agencies oversee 1500+ agencies as parent companies and currently employ over 77,000 people. Notable Omnicom Group clients include Apple, Adidas, McDonald's, Nissan, PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson, and Volkswagen.

Wieden+Kennedy

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon and founded in 1982, Wieden+Kennedy is one of the largest independently owned advertising agencies in the world. They are best known for the work with NIKE and have responsibility in creating the famous "Just Do It" tagline. Also known for the "This is SportsCenter" campaign and the Old Spice "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" commercials. They have done work with many other companies including Microsoft, Honda, Miller Brewing Company, and Bud Light.

Ogilvy (Ogilvy & Mather)

Ogilvy is British advertising Agency that is also based in New York City. Ogilvy has been around since 1850 and is now one of the largest agencies in the entire world. They have over 50 different clients and some of their most notable ones are Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, Corona, Pfizer, and Time Warner. Some of their more notable work is Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. This campaign came out in 2004 and is still talked about to this day. The campaign focused on redefining society's definitions and standards of beauty. The video" Sketches" has earned over 114 million views. They are also known for some of their early work with advertising Guinness to the United States in the 1950's.
